How I work with you
Here are two case studies to illustrate just a couple of the ways that I can work with my clients:
Case study #1
A psychologist approached me for advice about what size and type of practice she should open. I started by asking her about her overall values and goals. She said that one of her primary goals was to maximise the amount of time she could spend on pro-bono work, and wanted to determine how much paid work she needed to take on to achieve that. We looked at her finances and projected how the various options for seeing clients (shared space, own dedicated space) would impact on her goal so that she could make the right decision.
Case study #2
A bike mechanic worked with me to determine how to best structure his work around his current life. As a father of school-aged children, his goal was to quit weekend work and work mainly during school hours, so that he could spend time with his children and not need to send them to after-school care. We worked though all the financial factors affecting this decision (the cost of after-school care, the minimum income he required) and modeled a concept of operating as a mobile mechanic that now meets all his needs and fits his current primary goals.
